Shirley A Simmons-Lovings (60) passed away on June 23, 2020. Her love for the lord was evident in the life she led; she was a humble kind-hearted soul who will be forever missed. She was born and raised in Elgin, Texas and attended school there before moving to Seattle, Washington. She graduated from Ingraham High School class of 1978. Shirley attended Griffin Business College and received certificates for Accounting and Medical Receptionist. She worked for many years at Book Publishing Company. Later, she became a Metro Transit Operator with King County.
Her life was a living example of Romans 8:38-39 “ For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Shirley was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and grandchildren and embraced every moment with them. Shirley loved her siblings and was always there to give and receive good advice. As a friend, she never met a stranger. She was dedicated to her family and job, as a worker she was loyal and steadfast, a trait she passed on to her children. She loved her family and devoted herself to them.
Shirley was preceded in death by parents Lloyd Lovings and Lillian Suggs and brother, Calvin Lovings. Left to cherish memories are her son, Andre’ Hobbs, her daughters, De Setta Johnson and Shirley Johnson, her sister Betty Simmons-Austin and brother Lawrence Lovings (Lydia), her grandchildren, Csyrus Quantrell, Pryden Quantrell, Kyslen Trujillo and Kylaisa Trujillo. Nephew Ray Simmons. Nieces Virginia Loving and Jennifer Morgan
From Mom: Stick together no matter what. Be there for one another Andre’, De Setta and Shirley.
